QRI Bowls Team Success in Bunbury
The Queensland Railway Institute Bowls Team recently travelled to Bunbury, Western Australia from 15–26 March 2026, with a strong group of 21 players, a manager, and 8 supporters making the trip.
The team delivered an outstanding performance across the Carnival, securing multiple prestigious wins. Queensland proudly took out the Commissioners Shield and the Dennis Cup, along with the Davey Paxman Shield in the Fours Competition.
A special mention goes to the team led by Bruce Archer (skip), who were recognised as the best fours side in the competition. In the Triples Competition, Chris Flynn, Tom Corling and Glenn Shimeld achieved success by winning the ANI Trophy.
Overall, it was a highly successful Carnival for the Queensland Railway Institute Bowls Team, showcasing skill, teamwork, and strong representation on the national stage.
