Honouring Ray “Noddy” Nothdurft: Giving Back Through Community and Charity

At QRI Lifestyle, giving back has always been at the heart of what we do. That’s why we were so proud to support the Queensland Lung Transplant Support Group at their Memorial Ray "Noddy" Nothdurft Annual Bowls Day on 7 June 2025.

Held at the Woodford Bowls Club under sunny skies, the day was not only a tribute to the memory of Ray "Noddy" Nothdurft, a long-standing and respected QRI Lifestyle member but also a meaningful fundraiser to support lung transplant recipients and their carers across Queensland.

We were truly honoured to receive a heartfelt thank-you letter and certificate of appreciation from the Support Group’s President, Fraser Scott, and Secretary, Tracy Kennedy-Shanks. Their kind words reminded us why supporting grassroots events like this matters so much, not just to the recipients, but to the broader community around them.

As part of our contribution, QRI Lifestyle donated a 2 night holiday voucher and a selection of QRI merchandise as prizes for the event. We were happy to hear that the winner of the holiday was “very excited,” and that the day’s merchandise prizes were appreciated by all who attended.

It was great to know that the winners, the players, and even the memorial shield, proudly held by Denise Nothdurft, extended their thanks to us on behalf of the lung transplant recipients and their carers.

While our donation may have seemed small in comparison to the life-changing work this support group does, we believe every bit counts, especially when it comes to supporting the wellbeing of others.

At QRI, we are constantly reminded that generosity doesn’t always have to come in large, dramatic gestures. Sometimes, it’s simply showing up, giving what you can, and sharing resources to help others thrive.
