QRI Lifestyle’s Scholarship Awards continue to make a meaningful difference for members and their children, helping to support talent, growth and opportunity across a range of fields. This year, we are pleased to share the story of Evelyn Dingle, recipient of a $1,000 Arts Scholarship, whose journey shows just how valuable this support can be. With the help of the scholarship, Evelyn has been able to further develop her dance training, strengthen her skills and gain experiences that have helped shape her confidence and future.
Evelyn’s Dance Journey with QRI Scholarship Support
Over the past year, Evelyn has been incredibly grateful to be a recipient of the QRI Lifestyle Arts Scholarship. This opportunity has allowed her to grow not only as a dancer but also in confidence and dedication to her craft.
With the support of the scholarship, Evelyn has trained extensively and spent time developing her skills with Achieve Performing Arts Academy, where she built strong foundations and gained valuable performance experience. During her time there, she also had the exciting opportunity to attend a national dance competition on the Gold Coast, performing alongside talented dancers from across the country, as well as take part in filming for a segment with A Current Affair on Nine Network, hosted by Allison Langdon. The segment focused on the proposed social media ban for under 16s in Australia, giving her the opportunity to be involved in an important national conversation.
Evelyn has also been working on her acrobatic skills through sessions with Acro Excellence, where she has been learning new techniques and strengthening her abilities. At home, she continues to practise regularly using an air track purchased with the scholarship funding, helping her stay consistent and motivated outside of class.
Throughout the year, Evelyn attended several workshops, including one with Gianna Martello, known for her work on Dance Moms, as well as a workshop with Brent Street. These experiences have been inspiring and have broadened her understanding of different dance styles and performance techniques.
Evelyn also finished her primary school journey on a high note, proudly receiving a Dance Award at her graduation, recognising her commitment, passion, and talent within her cohort. Now in high school, Evelyn has proudly been accepted into her school’s dance team. She is currently training across a range of styles including Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre, and is looking forward to competing with her team for the first time in June.
The support from the QRI Scholarship has played a huge role in Evelyn’s journey this year, and we are so thankful for the opportunities it has provided. We are excited to see where her love for dance continues to take her.
